The cover of your book is the first impression most readers will ever have. And it may be the last, unless it stands out from the crowd.
Statistics suggest that unless a reader expressly goes into a store to purchase your book, in which case it doesn't really matter, you have two seconds to get her attention and eight to keep it long enough for her to open the book and look inside. One shot, two seconds.
